Springs, NY
The design approach embraced the essence of the Springs' historic district —a quiet area celebrated for its artistic heritage. This backdrop inspired a design that caters to the spontaneous and uncontrived atmosphere of the locale. The choice of furnishings played a key role in achieving this effect. A dynamic mix of vintage furniture, gathered with a sense of freedom and creativity, forms a spectrum of different eras and styles, echoing the lived-in feel the clients desired for this project. We created a series of millwork carrying the same concept, including a Shaker-inspired dining room bench that evokes the simplicity and grace of a church pew. Together a spectrum of curated elements enrich the space architecturally and enhances the feel of a cozy, humble abode. The result is a home that is relaxed, layered, and intriguingly eclectic, embodying the charm of an old-world find with modern comforts.
